Bejeweled Twist is the newest addition to the Bejeweled family. Having played all three versions, this one is by far the best.

The graphics are colorful and interesting enough to make even the wait for the loading of the game bearable. While the game loads you are treated to the sight of what looks like an electronic crystal ball, flashing lightning. This is only the beginning of some really excellent graphics. It keeps you visually entertained for the entire game and the colors are clear and vibrant.
Once the game begins the action comes quickly. You can choose to play either a “classic” version where bombs tick away the seconds and you have to beat the clock, or choose the relaxing “Zen” version, where you don’t have to worry about the time.

The music drifts in and out with the pace of the action and sets the mood for the play. All of the action is punctuated by a variety of sounds that add much to the fun of the game. When you make an excellent move, it not only tells you that it was good, the sounds underscore the point with bells that sound a lot like the old pinball machines.
Bejeweled Twist continues the tradition of swapping gems to make chains and earn points. It adds the feature though of gems that can be twisted all the way around in a clockwise motion to make moves that were never possible before. You can move a gem from several rows away to make your chain. This is very helpful when using one of the special cubes like the “lightning” cube or the “fire” cube. This is a bonus in making Bejeweled Twist one of those games that it is worth the money to buy.

There is enough variety and challenge in Bejeweled Twist to keep you entertained for hours. If the Zen version is too peaceful, switch to the Classic mode and challenge yourself to make chains faster. Learn the tricks to use your Fire cube to blow up the coal or to make longer chains. Bask in your accomplishments with the “replay” feature that lets you watch your best moves over and over.
Throughout the game you are treated to the best graphics Bejeweled has come out with yet.
If you are shopping for a game to buy I would highly recommend this one. I give it a rating of 4/5 for its entertaining format and for its ability to entertain long after other games have become boring.
