Fugazo, Inc. has released a game called Fishco, in which you are a co-owner of an aquarium shop that caters to the fish lovers of the world. Through 40 levels of unique game play you will care for and sell 20 different types of freshwater fish as your business grows.
Fishco offers 3 game modes; action, relax, & sandbox. In the action mode you can work through the 40 levels of game play trying to beat the goals within the time limit to earn rewards. In the relax mode you can play through the levels without the constraints of a time limit. The sandbox mode allows you to care for your own personal aquarium, which can also be turned into a screen saver.

Within the first 60 seconds of beginning Fichco you will realize that if you are a hardcore gamer then this game probably isn’t for you. Its laid back, lazy river music is more likely to put you into a coma than entice you to play the game and the most excitement you’ll get is when a fish dies and you have to flush it down the toilet! After about 6 levels of cleaning algae, feeding, breeding, and selling fish the game starts to get a bit monotonous. Every level is pretty much the same, with the exception of a new aquarium plant to buy or fish to sell.

Probably the only bright sides to the entire game are graphics and sound effects that Fugazo, Inc. has used to bring this fishy wonderland to life. When you begin game play and are beholden to your first aquarium it’s very nice to see the amount of detail the creators put into make it as realistic as possible. The colors and images are very captivating and will draw you in, despite your better judgment, because hey, lets face it, you’re playing a game where the sole objective is to sell fish.
As far as creativity goes, there really isn’t anything new to this style of game. Think Dinner Dash, but instead of a restaurant you work at a pet store and you’ve pretty much got Fishco pegged.

When it comes down to the numbers Fishco is at best a 2 out of 5 on the rating scale. It is appropriate for all ages but, will definitely not appeal to all ages. If you are looking for a mind numbing, remotely interesting experience, then Fishco is the game you have been looking for. If not then I’m sure you can find something much more interesting to spend your $19.99 on.
