Aside from adorable graphics, pleasant music and decent sound effects, this game is nothing more than yet another twist on Bejeweled. The background music is pleasant, not very noticeable, and the sound effects include squishing and splooshing noises which complement the cute graphics very well.

The object is to drag the cute jellies into each other, matching colors across the screen, up or down or diagonally to cause the jellies to grow. They grow larger, and eventually drop and clear everything in the column below it, unless, of course, there are Rockons beneath it.

If there is a Rockon beneath it, you must get rid of it, otherwise it will eventually fall to the bottom and begin blocking the “ray” located to the left of the screen. When the number of Rockons reaches the top of the ray, the game is over. The famous Rockons do make the game more interesting, because they can block the ray on the side and eventually end the game, or as you pass levels, they can even eat the jellies below them.

Although the graphics are cute, the game play and creativity leaves something to be desired. They attempt to make the play different by allowing you to “earn” coins to purchase new playing levels, but when you reach those levels, you realize it is just more of the same. Yes, you need a bridge to get from the first playing level to the temple level, but do you really need to purchase bridge lights? It’s merely a way to distract you from the real goal of moving to new levels by tempting you to use your coins on useless items.

The game also lacks instruction throughout. It tells you to select the area you want to play in, but you do not realize that when you are beginning, there is only one place to play. And although it does give you tips on how to get rid of the Rockons, you remain slightly confused until you accidentally blow one up. Then you realize what you did and can repeat that motion to rid yourself of other Rockons. When the Rockons come on the screen, they use baby talk to give you the few instructions that are helpful. This can also be slightly annoying.

If you advance far enough, there is a way to get rid of some of the Rockons that have already started blocking the ray. However, it fails to mention some important instructions in this area as well. All in all, while it does use sweet little graphics and pleasant sounds, it is little more than another Bejeweled game. The game also seems to run a bit slow, and the rewards and mysteries that you solve in the temple seem to be silly and take a long time to solve. Although I believe it would appeal to older children and even young teens, I give it a 3/5 because I do not believe I would want to purchase the game when I could play numerous versions of Bejeweled online for free.
