Band of Bugs Game Review by Pam Thompson

Band Of Bugs is a breath of fresh air. After downloading the free trial, several members of my family had fun playing the trail version and are begging for more. At $14.95 for the full version, it may not be out of reach of our pocketbooks.

Band of Bugs is a turn based strategy game. You are in control of first one bug, and eventually several, with different weapons and skills. The goal is to overturn the forces of bug evil, and to keep your band of bugs alive.

The game has a fairly easy to navigate interface, which is made easier with a play based tutorial. The tutorial eases you into the game, and eventually you are confident and on your own.

The soundtrack is adequate, I doubt it will win any awards, but it is not annoying. The graphics are interesting. The graphics make the game easy to navigate. I enjoyed the dialog and the puns throughout the game. I found that the dialog made the game a bit more appealing to an adult. I must say though, that the game is most definitely geared toward the tweenage set. There is definitely enough variety and challenge to keep a casually gaming adult busy as well.
The controls take a bit of time to get used to. They are not as intuitive as I prefer. There is an awkward combination of mouse and keyboard controls, and I am fairly certain with a bit or programming tweaking, all of the controls could be mouse controlled…that is a patch I’d love to see.

I rate this game a 4/5, and will possibly be investing in the full version.
